Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Ultimate Challenge: Wild Country Expeditions

Completing Gold DofE Expedition

Consolidate & Conquer

The Gold Award is designed to consolidate the experience gained at Bronze and Silver levels by challenging participants in a completely new environment. Whether it's the wild highlands of Scotland, the rugged mountains of Snowdonia, or the lakes of Cumbria, this is your chance to push your boundaries.

Time for a change? Most participants have completed walking expeditions by this stage. We highly recommend trying something new like Canoeing or Kayaking to reinvigorate the team's enthusiasm and learn a fresh set of skills.

Safety & Expert Staff

Safety is our number one priority. We believe the key to a safe expedition is excellent training. From hazard awareness and map reading to keeping kit dry, we teach you the skills to be self-sufficient in wild country.

Our staff are highly experienced, DBS-checked, and hold National Governing Body Awards relevant to the environment (Mountains/Rivers). Most importantly, they have a passion for the outdoors. We practice Active Supervision—we head out into the hills or onto the rivers with you (at a distance); we don't just sit in a vehicle with binoculars!

Try Something Different: Bushcraft

If you are tired of tents, why not add a Bushcraft twist to your Gold Expedition?

We can teach you how to cook on an open fire and sleep under the stars in a hammock (with a tarp on standby for rain!). This offers a fantastic progression for groups who have completed Bronze and Silver in standard tents and want a closer connection to nature.
