Paddle Boarding Cardigan

Why SUP?

Stand-up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is exploding in popularity. It's a fantastic workout that uses your arms, legs, and core, yet remains accessible for all abilities.

Whether you are looking for a sedate wildlife safari or a session filled with splashes and excitement, we have a trip for you. And remember—it's not essential to stand! Many people enjoy kneeling or sitting, especially when starting out.

Adverse Conditions & Safety

River Levels:
If the river is too high to make a safe trip we will adapt the session or change to an alternative session / location. We can still do the session in the rain.

Swim Ability:
None required. Please let us know if you may struggle in the unfortunate event you fall in; the banks of the river will never be far away. However, the closest thing will be the board—if you fall in, just get back on! You will have enough kit on that you will float.

Common Questions

Yes - Paddle Boarding is great fun in the rain. You are likely to get wet anyway!
If heavy rain causes river levels to rise to an unsafe level, we will make an alternative plan. This might involve using the sea, switching to a more stable craft (like a raft), or changing activities. However, our main location can handle a lot of water safely.
Usually, we return to the start where we left the cars. If we are doing an A-to-B trip (like the Gorge Trip), we will arrange a shuttle at the start of the session.
  1. Meet your guide and get kitted up in wetsuits and safety gear.
  2. Safety briefing on land.
  3. Start on the water learning how to control the board and find your balance.
  4. Head off on the journey! Our instructors will have you standing and playing by the end of the session.
