Option 1: The Rapids Experience

Kayaking is great fun, especially on moving water. Our sessions are centered around making sure you have the most amount of fun, whilst still learning key skills in a safe environment.

The Boats: We usually provide sit-on-top kayaks which make getting on and off easier and are much more stable than sit-in kayaks. Depending on water levels, we adapt the craft used (inflatable "Crocs" or solid boats) to best suit the conditions and maximize your fun.

Option 2: The Cardigan Experience

A great activity for all levels of ability. We start in Cardigan itself close to the castle. Depending on the tide, we may head up river towards the Teifi Gorge passing the Nature Reserve, or down river towards the sea passing St Dogmaels.

It is a calmer session where the distance paddled is led by the group's ability. Some sessions focus on splashing and playing, while others are a good physical paddle to release energy. We let the group decide the pace!

Adverse Conditions & Safety

River Levels:
If the river is too high to make a safe trip we will adapt the session or change to an alternative session / location. We can still do the session in the rain.

Swimming Ability:
None required. Please let us know if you may struggle in the unfortunate event you fall in; the banks of the river will never be far away. However, the closest thing will be the kayak—if you fall in, just get back on!

Common Questions

After kayaking down through the rapids (Option 1), we walk back up the path to the start and often run the trip a second time! Then we return to the start where we left the cars. This requires some effort to carry the boats back up the track (typically done in pairs).

If we have a lot of rain and river levels increase to a point where the session would be unsafe, we will change it to White Water Rafting so you can still have a great time out on the water safely.

Yes, but use a secure leash. If they fall off, we cannot be held responsible. If they are important for driving, consider not wearing them. Contact lenses are fine but may wash out.
