    A little history

    We have been introducing people to our Surf sessions since 1997. Our Surf sessions are delivered by experienced and trained Instructors, some of whom have travelled to destinations such as California, Western Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, the Canaries and Western Europe in search of the perfect wave. Despite all the travelling, they keep coming back to West Wales to take advantage of the year-round Atlantic rollers.

    Our Surf Sessions

    We will meet you at the beach where we will be provided with a winter wetsuit and once we've had a warm-up we'll discuss the basic physics of surfing. Our Surfing sessions are great for all abilities, and best suited for those age 7 and up. We will start you off by teaching you the basics skills to surfing and explain water safety at the beach. It is not possible for everyone to get standing on their first session, as we are all slightly different and waves are not all ways perfect. But by the end of the session you will have a great understanding of surfing this will allow you to rent a board next time and put every thing you know to fruition.

    Getting Started

    This is ideal for a fun day out with friends, a birthday party, or a stag / hen do!

    On the beach we'll start off with an introduction and safety briefing. Then we will work through the 3 stages of getting you onto your feet on the board. For each separate stage we will practice on the beach, then try out our skills in the waves;

    Paddling for a wave and catching it.

    "Riding Prone" - gathering speed and stability, and surfing whilst lying flat.

    The "Pop Up" - getting to your feet without losing speed or balance.

    You will soon learn that it's all about timing and balance, and it will take time to master - you will have your own share of 'wipe outs' on the way. But don't worry, it's all part of the fun.

    Walking on Water!

    Surfing really does have a steep learning curve so don't be surprised if you're not standing up straight away. Your Instructor is at hand throughout the session to give encouragement and help you achieve better rides. It may be that you're trying to 'pop' too early or that you're too far forward on the board, or maybe that your wave selection needs work. Don't worry, our experts will help you all the way. And don't be disappointed if you don't quite stand up on your Surf session with us. We aim to teach you enough so that you can continue working towards this goal the next few times you get out in the waves with a board.

    Yes, you would just need to let us know in advance, and the more notice you give us the more flexible we can be.

    Yes: people do wear contact lenses and say its ok but I don't where them so just go on others word. Glasses can be worn but its best to have a leash attached.
