White Water Rafting

One of our most popular water sports, White Water Rafting is great fun!

Come and join the excitement with us at Adventure Beyond.

White Water Rafting is one of our most popular activities, and it's easy to see why.

With just the right mix of exhilarating fast water and gentle paddling, our white water rafting sessions are one of the best ways to be introduced to this adrenaline-packed sport. On this adventure you will have the chance to paddle down some of the best white water in the UK, the Teifi River in West Wales, where the UK Raft Championships were held back in 2012.

This is a great activity for all the family, but it's also very physical and, because of this, the required minimum age is 8 years old. We are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Service to provide white water rafting to unaccompanied under-18's, so this makes a great activity for schools and colleges.

How does the session run?

After an informative briefing, you will start learning how to steer your raft as a team, before being launched straight into the action as you make your first drop into real white water.

Each raft will have a fully qualified Instructor guiding.

White Water Rafting is an activity which usually lasts for 3+ hours.

Our sessions run from one location to another on the River Teifi in West Wales, and during the trip you will travel though the beautiful Welsh countryside.

There are three sections of rapids during the trip, starting on a Grade 2 before having a fun trip following the river round bends and playing games, then reaching a Grade 3 Rapid. After this there is a shorter length though the countryside before finishing the trip heading down a Grade 4 Rapid.

Questions and answerers

Can we do the Activity in the rain?

Yes - White water rafting can be done in the rain.

Do White water rafting trips happen all year round?

Yes and No: All we need is water in the river this can happen all year it just depends upon the weather.

What happens if there is not enough water to raft?

If the water is to low the rapids we head down get to narrow for the rafts.

If this happens we change the session to White water tubing or kayak, which are narrow enough to head down the rapids and are great fun.

Alternatively we can still use the rafts on another section of river which is deeper, with it being deeper there are no rocks creating rapids.

Can we change our Activities?

Yes, you would just need to let us know in advance, and the more notice you give us the more flexible we can be.

Can I wear contact lenses or glasses?

Yes: people do where contact lenses and say its ok but I don't where them so just go on others word.

Glasses can be worn but its best to have a leash attached. If they fall off or get broken we can not be held responsible.

If they are important to your driving think wisely before taking on session.

What group sizes can you accommodate?

Large and small groups can be accommodated please contact us for more information.

Do we need to be able to swim?

No it is unnecessary for White water rafting, the main aim is to stay on board.

If you happen to fall in we provide you with enough floating equipment that you float.

Do you have equipment to fit all sizes?

Yes - we have a wide range of sizes in all of our equipment. Before you head out on your activities our Instructors will ensure that all equipment fits correctly and they'll make any necessary changes.

What if I have a medical condition?

Our Instructors are trained to deal with different situations, so we can easily accommodate people with diabeties, asthma, mild epilepsy, autism and more. Please contact us if you have any questions. If you require a waterproof container to bring medication please let us know in advance.

To make the White water rafting trip viable we require a minimum of 4 People to be in the raft.

If you are an adventurous couple and don't have enough people, you are not alone - this is a common question. We have started a list of people who require other members to join together with them to make up a group. We can put you on the list, and we would then try to make up a group for whenever you're available to play.
