What we can offer?

We offer both fully guided walking sessions and mountain training all over the country. You might just want a local guide to see you through a mountain day or you might want a number of guides to lead a variety of groups - either way we can cater for both. We can also provide you or your group with training too. We are able to develop the following skills for you and your group:

  • Navigation using map and compass
  • Route planning and the use of route cards
  • Group Management
  • Night Navigation
  • Hazards and Weather
  • Camp Craft

For those who just want to get into the hills, we can offer half-day sessions to week-long expeditions and more.

Questions and answers

Can we do the Activity in the rain?

Yes but the right clothing will make it pleasant even in the rain

Does it matter if we can use a map?

No we will guide you on the route, or if you prefer we can teach you to use a map whilst we go.

How tough will it be?

We can adapt route and offer a wide variety of options to cater for your needs. Hard going to pleasant and easy, just ask us what you would like to get out of the day.

Can we change our Activities?

Yes, you would just need to let us know in advance, and the more notice you give us the more flexible we can be.

What group sizes can you accommodate?

Large and small groups can be accommodated please contact us for more information.

What if I have a medical condition?

Our Instructors are trained to deal with different situations, so we can easily accommodate people with diabeties, asthma, mild epilepsy, autism and more. Please contact us if you have any questions. If you require a waterproof container to bring medication please let us know in advance.

Youth Groups and DofE

Many youth organisations are now involved with the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, which requires expedition experience for all levels. A hill walking expedition usually features in one or more stages of the award for most applicants and we are able to provide award-specific Duke of Edinburgh training and assessment at all levels. We are also able to offer support and assessments for the National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) and other awards such as the Walking Group Leader (WGL) and Mountain Leader (ML) Awards.
